WANGANUI CARNIVAL.

; WHOLE WEEK OF ACTIVITY. Wanganui is looking forward to an exceptionally bright 10 days of carnival. The Carnival Princess arrives in the city on Monday night next and in her honour the Maoris of Katana, intend staging what .is known as the “Taiaha,” a display meant to focus attention on the weapons of battle which the natives used in days long ago. The flower ballet will include representations of blooms of all shapes, sizes and colours, from buttercups to sunflowers.
