BRIGHT PROSPECTS
When a maiden is good enough to run into places when competing against the best hack class that invariably gathers at Trentham, that maiden usually does not remain off the winning list very long. Competing in the Tyro Stakes at Woodville to-day is Darecourt, who recently ran second to the southern “boom” Hcstis in the Trial Plate at Trentham, and then finished third to Quite Soon and Round Score in the Kelbum Hack Handicap on the concluding day. With the exception of Inveresk, who ran fair races at New Plymouth and Hawera lately, the opposition meeting Darecourt to-day does not appear to be up to standard. Going on form Darecourt appears to have prospects of running very prominently before the Woodville fixture concludes. S ,
