GOOD EWE FAIR AT DANNEVIRKE. PRICES UP TO EXPECTATIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dannevirke, Last Night. Despite heavy and continuous rain a record yarding of 30,000 at the annual ewe fair at Dannevirke to-day resulted in a good sale. Penned young ewes met a good, keen demand, while older sorts were holding a little. Prices generally equalled those ruling at Feilding and other sales. Had rain fallen 24 hours earlier and been followed by fine weather the prices would no doubt have exceeded expectations. As it was they were very. satisfactory. Some of the best prices were 22s 4d for five-year-olds, 23s 3d for four-year-olds, 22s to 27s for four-tooth and sixtooth, and up to 28s 6d for two-tooth.
