LOWGARTH AND MIDHIRST TEAMS. RESULTS OF LADDER MATCHES. The Radnor Road A team visited Lowgarth to play the third match in the Petrie Shield tennis competitions. Luncheon and afternoon tea were provided for the teams. Many of the games _ were evenly contested, Radnor Road winning by six sets and 17 games. In the following results Lowgarth players are mentioned first:—

Combined doubles: J. Sulzberger and Miss J. Stewart lost to A. Pahl and Miss B. Hunt 3—6, A. Willan and Miss I. Richardson beat A. Mapp and Mrs. Hunt 6—5, A. Alsop and Miss E. Richardson lost to H. Vickers and Mrs. Askew 5—6, E. Adams and Mrs. Sulzberger beat C. Kelly and Miss D. Kaspar 6—3. Women’s singles: Miss Stewart lost to Miss Hunt 5—6, Miss I. Richardson lost to Mrs. Hunt 4-6, Miss E. Richardson beat Mrs. Askew 6—4, Mrs. Sulzberger beat Miss Kaspar 6—3. Women’s doubles: Misses Stewart and I. Richardson lost to Miss Hunt and Mrs. Hunt 4—6, Miss E. Richardson and Mrs. Sulzberger lost to Mrs. Askew and Miss Kaspar 3—6. Men’s singles: J. Sulzberger lost to A. Pahl 2—6, A. Willan lost to A. Mapp 2—«, A. Alsop beat H. Vickers 6-4, E. Adams lost to C. Kelly 2—6. Men’s doubles: J. Sulzberger and A. Willan lost to A. Mapp and A. Pahl 3—6, A. Alsop and E. Adams lost to H. Vickers and C Kelly 5 —6. Totals: Lowgarth. 5 sets (68 games), Radnor Road 11 sets (85 games). A visit from a Midhirst tennis team recently resulted in the visitors beating Radnor Road by 14 seta (94 games) to four sets (64 games). Play commenced at 11 o’clock but there was not sufficient time to finish and the women’s singles were omitted. Results, with Midhirst players mentioned first, are as follows: Combined doubles: R. Mr. and Mrs. Cohn C. Davis entertained at their home on Monday, for the opening of their tennis court. Congratulations were extended to Mrs. A. W. Mapp, Master Malcolm Davis and Mr. B. Hunt on their birthdays. Messrs ; Mapp and B. Hunt thanked the host, for the enjoyable afternoon. Sets were played during the afternoon. Amongst those present were Mesdames A^ ' C. Davis, M. Davis, A. Mapp, J. B- Hun , Rookes, W. Vickers, W. Watte, Misses E. Mapp, M. Askew, J. and O. Rookes and B. Hunt.
