ENGLAND’S HUGE WIN

NEW ZEALAND LOSES AT CRICKET. INNINGS AND 337 RUNS MARGIN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The touring English women’s cricket team won the test match against New Zealand to-day by an innings and 337 runs. For the benefit of the spectators, the English team continued its innings, though a declaration at Saturday’s score of four for 432 would have been quite safe, and the innings was closed at five wickets for 503. New Zealand made a much better showing in the second innings, but less than two hours sufficed for the English bowlers to dismiss the side for 122 runs. For. the time that New Zealand was in the field to-day, the bowling and fielding were much improved. The only catches dropped were very difficult ones. For New Zealand, Miss Marks, one of the opening pair was the last to be dismissed. She made only 23 in 119 minutes at the wickets. Miss Symons, the New Zealand captain, was unable to bat, owing to an injury received while fielding, and Miss Buck had to retire through being struck while batting well. She returned later and made two more tuns. Scores were:— NEW ZEALAND. First Innings 44 Second Innings. M. Marks, run out 23 H. Buck, st. Snowball, b Partridge 16 P.
