A big line of Commercial Bank of Sydney shares was placed, and over 1000 Tooth’s shares were absorbed. The Brian Boru dredge return last week was 15oz 2dwt for 110 hours and 13,500 yards, reports the Press Association. The Mossy Creek dredge return was 18oz 12dwt from 4000 yards. Operations were restricted by lack of water owing to the drought. Gillespie’s Beach gold return was 390 z lOdwt for 129% hours. Okarito reports no return. The dredging hours during the week were only 49 on account of a stoppage for overhaul during the early part of the week. The Mataki return for the week ending February 17 was 29 ounces for 137 hours’ work. EWE FAIR AT FEILDING. PRICES WELL MAINTAINED. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report a total entry of approximately 33,000 breeding ewes at the Feilding ewe fair. Some outstanding two-tooth ewes were penned and competition for all good sorts was well sustained, good prices being obtained; Older ewes were in strong demand and anything attractive was well competed for, there being practically a total clearance. There was a large attendance. A good percentage of the yarding was bought for the Main Trunk district.
