STILL GOING STRONG
The veteran Southern hurdler Black Duke, who figures in the Warrington Hurdles at Dunedin to-morrow, is getting reasonably close to the double century mark for the number of races he has contested in New Zealand. A few years ago Black Duke was one of the best middle-distance performers to race in the South Island, and when increasing age began to take toll of his fiat pace he made a name for himself as a hurdler. At 13 years of age Black Duke is still full of vim, and it seems to be on the cards that further stake-money will come his way at Dunedin this week.
