EGMONT POPULAR ATTRACTION
WEALTH OF FORM ENGAGED PROBLEMS FOR THE PUNTERS JTOR North Island sportsmen the popular attraction of this week will be the Egmont Racing Club’s autumn meeting, which opens at Hawera to-day and concludes to-morrow. After receiving “bumper” nominations, the South Taranaki club has been accorded a very satisfactory list of acceptors for the opening day’s programme. This year the Egmont fixture concludes instead of commences the Wanganui-Taranaki autumn racing circuit, and with the wealth of form already disclosed at Wanganui and New Plymouth the various problems presented at Hawera may not be unduly difficult to solve. New Plymouth running may be the guide for the Egmont Cup, in which race a good class of middle-distance handicap performer is engaged. The Nolan Hack Cup has drawn a field of metropolitan dimensions.
