TOC H CAMP STRUCK
FORTY BOYS RETURN HOME. FORTNIGHT IN THE SUN. The 40 boys who have been attending the health camp conducted at the Waiwakaiho showgrounds, New Plymouth, by the New Plymouth group of Toe H. will strike camp to-day after a fortnight of happy days in the sun. During the past two weeks every effort has been made to give the boys a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. Cricket, outdoor games, organised sports, swimming and rambles over the countryside all helped to keep the youngsters entertained. In the evening community singing and a visit by a New Plymouth concert party accounted for the period between dusk and lights out. When the camp commenced the boys were divided into four groups and an ipter-group competition instituted. The competition incorporated all phases of the camp life and was won by The Pals. At the final community sing last night the members of the winning group were presented with a book and a badge bearing the inscription “1934 Toe H Camp Winner.” Splendid support was given the camp by the townspeople, and practically every day gifts of fruit and vegetables and cakes arrived at the camp. Visitors to the camp included parents and others, who showed a keen interest in the work of the Toe H group.
