GOOD PLAYERS AT WAIPAWA. By Telegraph—Press Association. Hastings,. Last Night. The 10 courts'of the Waipawa Tennis Club were in splendid order for the opening of the North Island championships. The weather was goodSome of the Dominion’s best players are participating. Championship results include:— Men’s singles: Dickie won by default; S. Hooper beat Rust, 6 —4, 6—3. Women’s singles: Miss Nicholls beat Miss Kibblewhite, 6—l, 6—o; Mrs. Mawson beat Miss Williams, 6—o, 6—l; Miss Palmer beat Miss Hooper, 6—l, 6—B, 6—4; Mrs. McMaster beat Miss Potter, 6—2, 6—3. Women’s doubles: Misses Holt and Garry beat Mesdames Woods and Norris, 2—6, 6—4, 6—2.
