WOMEN’S INSTITUTES
Whareroa: There was an attendance of 32 at the monthly . meeting, presided over by Mrs. Larcom. Visitors were welcomed from Te Roti, Turuturu and Fordell institutes. It was decided to hold a picnic at Ohawe beach on January 22. The members were reminded about the pantry exhibition to be held at the winter show. Mrs. Larcom gave an interesting demonstration of dressmaking. The competition was plain toffee, the winners being, Mesdames Laing, Aberley and Thomlinson snr. The judge was Mrs. Bowman. The exchange stall was supervised by Mrs. and Miss Paterson. Hostesses were Mrs. Christie, Misses Gould and Fearon.
