AUCKLAND SHIPPING
INCREACE SHOWN IN TONNAGE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night The tonnage of shipping that entered the pert of Auckland in 1934 was the greatest that has been recorded by the Auckland Harbour Board during the past five years. In 1930 6852 vessels of 4,400,651 gross tons visited the port whereas last year the tonnage was 4,894,771, although the number of vessels was only 5889. This may be ascribed to the larger type of ship now in commission. The tonnage was heaviest in January, March and December.
