NO WATER SHORTAGE
HOT WEATHER IN KING COUNTRY. PASTURES IN GOOD ORDER. (Special to News.) Taumarunui, Last Night. Although exceptionally hot weather has been experienced in the King Country during the past three weeks there has been no shortage of water on the farms, and last week very beneficial rain fell during the afternoons and evenings. The rain assisted the pastures and caused very little inconvenience to farmers, who were busy with their hay crops. At the present time there is an abundant supply of feed, and in spite of the objectionable heat the stock are looking at their best and the dairy herds are producing up to their full capacity. In the Taumarunui district the sky was overcast yesterday morning, when heavy rain fell. The. rain continued during the afternoon and evening, and although the downpour caused inconvenience to campers and motorists, very little damage was done to the main highway, which is in excellent order.
