TARATA AND PUKEHO
RAIN INTERRUPTS TENNIS. The sudden downpour of rain stopped the tennis competition which was in progress on the Tarata courts on Boxing Day. Mr. and Mrs. Leffatin, Palmerston North, are visiting the district as the guests of Mrs. A. Elliot. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Goodwin have returned from Palmerston North. Miss Thelma Skellern, who was indisposed, is now about again. Miss M. George has returned to Ratapiko after spending Christmas with her parents. Mr. Brown, Motukawa hydro, who was spending a few days at' Auckland, has arrived back accompanied by his mother. Miss F. Surrey is spending a few weeks with her people at Pukdho. Messrs. A. Lambert, Pihama, and J. Beale, Ohura, are holiday-making in the district. Mr. and Mrs. R. McKinley, Taumarunui, spent Christmas with Mrs. J. Hirst. Miss Mavis Hirst, Paraparaumu, is home on holiday. Mr. and Mrs. A. Skellern were visitors to Stratford and New Plymouth during Christmas. Messrs. C. and R. Drake motored to Kohuratahi, where they were the guests of their parents for Christmas. Mr. F. Gensen, Kaimata, spent Christmas in the district.
