GOOD LUCK CHARM
AN EDELWEISS FLOWER. You can talk to Drue Leyton from now on, but you cannot persuade her there is not something to this “good luck” business. The young actress who vzas taken from the Broadway stage by Fox Film a few months ago believes that much of the good fortune that has come her way is due to a lucky charge she acquired _ six years ago. It is an Edelweiss flower plucked by , a male friend when she was in the Swiss Alps. She carries the flower wherever she goes, changing it from purse to purse tn its small leather case. The legend is that when a man and a maid walk in the mountains, she looks for the Edelweiss flower on the highest cliff she can discern. The man must climb and bring it back to her, which proves his devotion, and love, and the flower itself is supposed to bring hick to the girl who receives it in such manner, providing she bears it with her always. Miss Leyton is playing her first screen lead, Warner Oland, who also is a luck charm believer, places his faith in the power of a jade Buddha ring acquired 20 years ago. Mary Astor recently had a severe car smash. The front of the car was badly damaged, but she escaped with only a severe jarring. .
