ROWAN-OLD.

A choral wedding was celebrated at Knox Church, Inglewood, on November 22, when Irene, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Old, Tarurutangi, was married to James, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Rowan, Inglewood. The R?v. Mr. Keenan officiated, and Mrs. Keenan presided at the organ. ' ~ The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a full-length gown of white lace. She wore the customary veil and orange blossom, and carried a bouquet of white roses, orange blossom, carnations and maiden-hair fern. • Mist Jean Rowan, sister of the bridegroom, was chief bridesmaid. She wore a dainty frock of pink angel crepe, cut on smart straight lines, with cape sleeves, tied in a graceful bow at the back and adorned with a picot-edged bow on the shoulder. She wore a shady hat of delicate pastel straw, with satin shoes and stocking to tone, and carried a shower bouquet of pink roses, begonias, maidenhair and asparagus fems. Miss Phyllis Old, sister of the bride, was attired in a similar frock of pink angel crepe with puff sleeves and gathered godets in the skirt She wore a pale pink hat, with shoes and stockings to tone and carried, a bouquet of pansies, pink roses, begonia? and maiden-hair fern. Little Esme and Grace Old, sisters of the bride, were flower girls and wore frocks of blue georgette over satin, with lace caps. They carried posies of live-in-the-mist and begonias. The best man and groomsman were Messrs. Eric Rowan and Mr. Mervyn Rowan, brothers of the bridegroom. A reception at the Tarurutangi hall, which was specially decorated, was attended by over 100 guests. Mrs. J. Rowan, mother of the bridegroom, wore a smart model frock of black marocain, relieved with white and matching swagger coat fastened at the throat with two silver buttons. She wore a smart hat of black taigel straw trimmed with white and carried a posy of crimson rosebuds mingled with maidenhair fern. Mrs. C. Old wore mulberry floral crepe de chine, with biscuit hat to tone,*and her posy was of red roses and maidenhair fem. Mr. C. Old, grandfather of the bride, was present. A beautiful wedding cake was the gift of Mrs. Hoddle, Hawera. Dancing occupied the guests at the conclusion of the wedding breakfast, when Mr. and Mrs. Rowan, junr., left for Wellington, the bride travelling in a brown frock with hat to tone.
