Mrs. Stewart, Otorohanga, who has been the guest of her mother, Mrs. J. Meuli, left for New Plymouth during the week-end. Mrs. Devlin, who was Mrs. Howell’s guest during the week, has gone to Wanganui before returning to Wellington. Miss Rae is the guest of Miss I. Gane. normanby drama circle. SOCIAL AFTERNOON HELD. The Normanby Drama Circle at an enjoyable social afternoon on Tuesday entertained friends and said goodbye to Mrs. Pidgeon, the circle secretary. The Anglican hall was prettily decorated for the occasion and the guests were received by Mrs. Howell, leader of the circle. ’ Mrs. Howell, Misses P. Gane, V. Allan, D. Hopcroft, C. Stewart and M. Ritter entertained with the reading of the play “God Made Two Trees,” and songs were sung by Miss Mavis Gibson, accompanied by Mrs. Parslow. An amusing competition was won by Mrs. Parslow. Mrs. Howell voiced the regret felt by the circle at losing Mrs. Pidgeon and paid tribute to her help and enthusiasm. She wished the guest happiness and prosperity in her new home and called upon Miss Allan to make the presentation of a brass fruit bowl. Mrs. Pidgeon expressed thanks, also regret at leaving. Anything she had been able to do to assist had given her pleasure, she said. Mrs. Pidgeon was presented with a bouquet of roses and a shoulder posy by Mrs. Hopcroft and Mrs. Allan. .Afternoon tea was served by the committee. Among those present were Mesdames Pidgeon, Howell, Knuckey, W. G. Gane, C. Cleaver, A. Morse, J. Meuli, Erie Smith, A. J. Hopcroft, L. Franklyn, A. Hills, A. GaUoway, A. McAsey, Ritter, Devlin (Wellington), M. Parslow, T. J. Allan, Aitken, Misses Gane, J. McEwen, P. Gane, M. Ritter, V. Allan, E. Norfolk, Rae, M. Gibson, J. Phillips, M. Hopcroft and C. Stewart FAREWELL AT NORMANBY:. MRS. PIDGEON’S DEPARTURE. Large bowls of Canterbury bells, carnations and pansies decorated Mrs. A. J. Hopcroft’s drawing room when she entertained a large number of Mrs. Pidgeon’s friends to honour her on the eve of her departure from Normanby. The hostess to receive the guests was wearing a graceful gown of black georgette and Mrs. Pidgeon wore a smartly cut navy costume and small hat of the same shade. Songs were sung by Mesdames Morse and McEwen and Miss P. Gane and an elocutionary item was given by Miss Dorothy Hopcroft. Mesdames Parslow and Bennett played the accompaniments. A peanut competition was won by Mrs. Stewart. After afternoon tea Mrs. Hopcroft asked the guest to accept a piece of china with the good wishes of all present, and she expressed the hope that both Mr. and Mrs. Pidgeon would have a happy future in their new home. A bouquet and a shoulder posy wer presented by Mrs. Bennett and Miss Hopcroft. Mrs. Pidgeon responded. Among those present were Mesdames J. Meuli, W. Bennett, V. Howell, A. McEwen, A. Thrush, W. G.
