OPUNAKE
Mrs. Saxby, Rotorua, was the guest of Mrs. H. Mantey, for a few days this week.
Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Wallace, Masterton, were visitors to Opunake on Wednesday. Mrs. R. Jenkin visited Stratford on Thursday evening for the Jenkins-Car-man wedding.
Mesdames Clare, Gower, Townsend and Thurston of the Eltham Croquet Club visited the Opunake lawns on Tuesday, and played friendly games. They were the home club’s guests at lunch. Miss Betty Fleming was hostess at a jolly tennis party at her home at Cape Road, Pungarehu, on Wednesday. She wore a smart white pique frock trimmed with red and blue to receive her guests. Mrs. Fleming wore a brown and gold patterned frock. Miss Peggy Fleming was in lemon linen, and Miss Ellah Fleming in white linen. Those present were Mesdames J. P. Burton, C. 0. Edmonds, W. A. Sharp, C. H. Marcroft (Opunake), Miss D. Fisher (Blenheim) and Miss M. Peebles (Hamilton).
