TOKENS OF PEACE
JAPANESE PRESENT TWO DOLLS. GIFT TO PREMIER OF VICTORIA. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Melbourne, Nov. 29. With picturesque formality Sir Stanley Argyle, the Premier of Victoria, has received from the Japanese Society at Melbourne a presentation of two dolls specially imported from Japan as a centenary gesture. Explaining that in Japan the doll is regarded as an emblem' of peace, the society said: “We Japanese residents of Melbourne desire to present these dolls to Victoria as an eternal token of the peace and friendliness of the people of Japan for Australia.”
