BOWLING AT ELTHAM
RESULTS OF AFTERNOON’S PLAY. An afternoon club bowling tournament was held at Eltham yesterday. The winners were A, O. Casey (skips), A. Coleman (leads), J. Campbell (seconds). Each rink was composed of three men and the games were played on the progressive principle. McKay, Gower and Casey tied with 3J wins among the skips. McKay beat Gower in the semi-final and Casey beat McKay in the final. Coleman won the leads with four wins. Among the seconds Campbell, Johnson and Smith were equal with four games each. Smith defaulted in the semi-final and Campbell beat Johnson in the final.
The respective number of wins were:— Skips: Mckay 31, Gower 31, Casey 3J, Brown 3, Drabble 3, Harrison 3, Carman 3, Rowe 2, Fake 2, J. R. Stewart 11, Peebles 1, Astbury 1. Leads: Coleman 4, Linn 3, Bridger 3, Crabtree 3, Stanners 3, Bush 21, Norgate 21, Nicholls 2, Carlson 2, Phillips 2, Carson 2, Coward 0. Seconds: Campbell 4, Johnson 4. Smith 4, Best 3J. Fountaine 31, Carmine 3, Peacock 2, Franks 2, Bluett 11, A. Stewart 11, Bootten 1, McQueen 0.
