GANGSTER’S DEATH
BODY FOUND ON ROADSIDE. SHOT BY FEDERAL AGENTS. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. ®ec. 5.5 p.m. Chicago, Nov. 28. George Nelson, one of the last free members of Dillinger’s gang, was found dead by the roadside to-day. Apparently he was killed by Justice Department agents’ fire and thrown out of the gang’s automobile by his companions when they discovered his wounds were fatal. Two Federal agents hunting for the last remnants of the gang led by John Dillinger, the notorious American gangster, were attacked by two gunmen in an automobile on a suburban road. One was identified as George “Baby Face Nelson, formerly Dillinger’s lieutenant. In a furious exchange of gunfire one of the agents was killed and the other was seriously wounded. The gangsters escaped. The wounded agent participated in the killing of Dillinger on July 23.
