ALL DOMINION SALES KEEN FAT SHEEP SALE. OPERATIONS BY EXPORTERS. ADDINGTON WETHERS FIRM. Christchurch, Nov. 28. A keen demand for fat sheep was the principal feature of the Addington market to-day. Exporters were operating, and wether values were very firm, whi’f ewes advanced Is a head. Store sheep: A small entry only, with a steady demand for dry sheep, the market for which is firmer, wether hoggets being most keenly sought. Fat lambs: An entry of 1000 head, all small lines. Exporters took a small proportion at the export schedule of 7!/jd for up to 361 b, 7d for 37 to 421 b, 6V 2 d for overweights, and 7d for seconds. The top price was 26s Id. Fat sheep: An entry of 5400, the quality being uniformly good, with keen competition, exporter's operating for wethers only. Wethers were very firm at late rates, with ewes selling at an average of Is a head above late rates. Values were: Show wethers, to 27s Id; extra prime heavy wethers, 24s to 25s 6d; prime, 22s to 245; medium weight, 19s 6d to 21s 6d; ordinary, 18s 6d to 19s 6d; light, to 18s; extra prime heavy ewes, to 22s 7d; prime, 19s to 21s; mediumweight, 16s 6d to 18s 6d; ordinary, 14s to 16s; ligTit and aged, to 13s 6d. Fat cattle: An entry of 450 head, including lines from the southern provinces. The demand was steady at a level slightly below late rates for all except primest handy weight steer and heifer beef. The continued spell of hot weather is the biggest factor in holding the present level of the market. Vealers: A smaller entry sharpened the demand, and the drop ,of last week was recovered. Values: Best runners, to £5 16s; good, £3 to £4 15s; best vealers, to £3; smaller calves, 15s to 255; bobby calves, 3s 6d. Store cattle: A medium supply of station steers in poor condition made £4 10s to £5 10s; good three and four-year-old, to £6 10s; fresh cows, £2 15s to £3 10s; others, to 30s. Fat pigs: A large entry of both pork and bacon, with values all round from par to a shade better than last week. Export buyers took over 300 head of porkers. Values: Porkers, 31s 6d to 44s 6d; average price per lb, slbd to 6d; baconers, 47s 6d to £3 Ils 6d; average price per lb, sVad to 5%d. Store pigs: A med-ium-sized entry, with values firm at late rates. Values: Weaners, 16s to 21s; slips, 22s to 23s 6d; stores, 24s to 31s; sows in pig, £5 5s to £4 Is; purebred boars, £3 to £4 ss.
