RIOTING BY STUDENTS
AUSTRIAN STATE COUNCIL OPENED THOUSANDS FROM UNIVERSITY. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 8.15 p.m. London, Nov. 28. The opening session of Austria’s new advisory body, called the State Council, was marked by serious student riots, says the Daily Telegraph’s Vienna correspondent.
Thousands rushed from the university and smashed the windows of half a dozen Jewish-owned newspapers, but a strong cordon of police prevented them from reaching the Czechoslovak Legation.
The students after that rushed through the streets singing “Deutschland ÜbeiAlles,” giving the Nazi salute and shouting, “Perish the Jews!”
