CONGRESS VISITORS
FIRST SHIPS AT MELBOURNE. NEW ZEALANDERS INCLUDED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 11.5 p.m. Melbourne, Nov. 28. Two ships from New Zealand, the Wanganella and the Marama, and one from Great Britain arrived to-day carrying the vanguard of archbishops, bishops, priests and laymen, for the eucharistic congress. The principal New Zealanders are Bishops Liston (Auckland) and Brodie (Christchurch), Fathers. J. A. Kennedy and J. Long and Dr. L. T. Bumton. Among the New Zealand laymen are Messrs. P. J. Amodeo (Christchurch).
The Maheno is due on Friday bringing many more.
The great eucharistic procession, about which there has been much controversy, takes place on Sftnday, December 9, the opening day of the congress. About 40,000 people are expected to take part in the march.
