£40,000,000 FOR FRANCE PRECAUTIONS INCREASED MAINTENANCE OF FLEET NAVAL BUDGET ADOPTED By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Paris, Nov. 27. The Chamber of Deputies without a division voted .£40,000,000 for- th© air forces. General Denain, Minister of Air, hinted that France was taking precautions against air bombing. He described the provisions for spreading the manufacture of- aeroplane motors throughout the country. Youthful pilots ready to risk all were wanted. A hundred retired officers had been pensioned off. Unification of the military and naval air forces had given excellent results, he said. M. Francois Pietri, Minister of Marine, declared that the French navy must be strong. It would soon be equipped with the best heavy seaplanes and other machines. The past ten years’ efforts to reconstruct the fleet must be maintained.
The Chamber adopted the naval budget estimates.
