TARANAKI LAND BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING BUSINESS. The monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held at New Plymouth last Wednesday and Thursday, there being present Messrs. F. H. Waters (chairman), S. Blake, N. R. Cleland, HL A. Foreman and C. J. Ryan.. Several subdivisions of section 1 in the Ohawe town belt were offered for sale by auction on November 7, the following being selected: Subdivision 11, M. Lewer; subdivision 49, W. D. Wasley; subdivision 54, G. Duggan; subdivision 57, P. M. Chippington. . An application for subdivision 29 by J. G. Phillips was approved by the board, as were also the following applications for other areas: Section 23, Tongaporutu village, G. H. Henderson; part-section 7, block H., Omona survey district, K. Watchorn; temporary tenancy over section 4, block XV., Omona survey district, J. W. Richards. An application for an extension of gravel rights over an area in the Ohura survey district by J. Kallil was approved. Consent was given to the Eltham, Ohura and Taumarunui County Councils’ proposals for the expenditure of accrued “thirds.” Several applications for consent to transfer were considered, of which three were recommended for approval and the following approved: Section 164, Hua and Waiwakaiho district; sections 1, 3 and 6, block IV., Ngatimaru survey district; section 21, block VIII., Kaupokonui survey district; lot 5, section W, Town of New Plymouth. Renewals of leases over the undermentioned areas were also offered upon certain conditions to the present holders: Sections 369, 567 and 570, Town of New Plymouth, and sections 8, 63 and A, Hua Village. Of applications for financial assistance four were recommended for approval. The following areas will shortly be reoffered for general application: Allotments 9 and 10 of sections 562 and 563 and 586 to 591, Town of New Plymouth; section 1, block XI., Aria survey district; and section 40, block VI., Ngatimaru survey district.

Forty-five further miscellaneous cases dealing with mortgage adjustments, rental concessions, exemption from residence and conversions and extension of leases were considered.
