LABOUR AMENDMENT DEFEATED.

Rec. 10 p.m. London, Nov 27. In the House ot Commons, Mr. Walter Runciman, winding up the debate on Labour’s amendment to the Address to the Throne, defended the Government Chiefly on the ground that nearly 1,000,000 more people were employed now than three years ago. This, he said, was far more than Socialism could have achieved. The amendment was defeated by 400 votes to 48.
