POLICE RAID SEQUEL
GAMING HOUSE CHARGES HEARD. PROPRIETOR AND 38 OTHERS FINED By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, November 27. Following a Sunday morning raid on premises in Harris Street charges were preferred to-day against 39 men under the Gaming Act. Jiles Menzoni was charged with keeping premises known as the Tattersail Club as a common gaming house. A plea of guilty was entered, and a fine of £75 was imposed. Thirty-eight men were charged with being found on the premises without lawful excuse. Each was fined £2, costs 10s, and an order was made for the destruction of the gaming material.
