RAHOTU LODGE BALL
FOURTH ANNUAL EVENT HELD. The fourth annual ball of the Loyal Rahotu Lodge was held in the Rahotu hall on Wednesday last. The splendid public support of the ball and the large number of visiting members filled the Rahotu hall. The committee worked hard to make it a success. During the evening Noble Grand Bro. F. Smith introduced Deputy-District Grand Master Bro. Shersson, who presented a framed emblem to Past Grand Bro. G. McQuaig. The dance programme was rendered by Hooker’s orchestra. The hall was decorated under the supervision of BrOs. A. Gibson and B. Layard. The supper room also was decorated with streamers and greenery wider the supervision of Vice-Grand Sister Penwarden and Sister P. Waswo. Great credit was due to the secretary, Bro. A. Street, in organising and attending to every detail. The ladies’ committee under the leadership of Sister Penwarden comprised Sisters Renton, Waswo and Everest, Mesdames Penwarden, Street, Mackie, Inder, F. Smith, Waswo and Miss M. Gilhooley. The masters of ceremonies were Bros. Beardmore, G. McQuaig and PicOtt. Extras were played by Miss Pat Murray, Mrs. Mertrefisky and Mr. Norgate. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Sister Renton and Bro. Purvis, a spot waltz by Mr. Barrett and partner and a sweepstake Monte Carlo by Mr. Mabee and partner.
