CRUISE IN PACIFIC
RETURN OF AUCKLAND YACHT.
THREE MONTHS AMONG ISLANDS.

Auckland, Last Night.
After a cruise of nearly three months among the islands of the Pacific Ocean the Auckland yacht Ngataki returned to port to-night The crew comprised the owner (Mr. J. W. Wray) and Messrs. D. Wellington, N. Watson and P. McMahon. The voyage totalled 3900 miles. The Ngataki left Auckland on September 1. She arrived at Sunday Island on September 21, where supplies of oranges were taken on board. The yacht then proceeded to Nukualofa, Tonga, spending several days there, before leaving for Vavau. Here the crew was entertained in royal fashion by the natives. The yachtsmen were greatly impressed with the wonderful clearness of the water, being able to see to a depth of 90 feet
After a passage of 17. days the yacht reached Norfolk Island, where the crew were received well. The yacht travelled from Norfolk Island to within sight of Cape Brett in four days, but was delayed by calms in making port. Mr. Wray intends participating in the trans-Tasman race. No matter what happens, he is sailing purely for. the sport of it and the opportunity it will afford of seeing Melbourne.
