Rec. 8.40 p.m. Sydney, Nov. 26. The Duke of Gloucester spent to-day at a private home at Menangle. After riding over the neighbouring countryside he entered the racecourse, where he challenged his companion, Captain Smart, to a gallop up the straight, the event being unofficially and jocularly described as a dead-heat.
The Duke left late to-night for Orange, commencing his western tour.
