AUCKLAND BLAZE
SHOE SHOP SUFFERS DAMAGE.
SPREAD TO ADJOINING PREMISES.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night.
Extensive damage was caused by a fire which broke out at the premises of E. W. Webb and Company, boot and shoe importers, Karangahape Road, early this morning.
The fire apparently started at the rear of the shop, a single-storeyed wooden building, and had a good hold when the alarm was given. The rear of the building was completely gutted and the front of the shop also suffered. Some of the stock was burned, but the greater portion of it was damaged by smoke and water.
The fire spread to the adjoining premises, which were also damaged.
