MATCHES STARTED AT SYDNEY. MEN’S AND WOMEN’S RESULTS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Rec. 11 p.m. Sydney, Nov. 23. Tennis inter-State matches were begun to-day. Results were:— Men’s singles: Crawford beat Hopman, by default; McGrath beat Ewan, 6—3, 6—4; Sproule beat Holloway, 6—o, 6—o; Bromwich beat Kay, 6—2, 6—2. ' Women’s singles; Mrs. Hopman beat Miss Blick (Victoria), B—6, 4—6, 6—l; Miss Hattersley beat Miss Chitty, 2—6, 6—l; Miss Sei win beat Miss Whittaker, 6—3, 6—2; Miss Coyne beat Miss Hodge Wrigley, 9— 7, 6—2.
