URENUI SCHOOL
MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Urenui school committee was held in the schoolroom on Tuesday night, when Mr. C. W. Henwood presided over a full attendance of the committee. The headmistress reported that the average attendance for October was 84.3, the roll number being 91 Two ttramo-
phone records had been purchased for use in the drill classes. In connection with the calf rearing competition it was resolved to give a medal for most points scored for type and condition in each of the three classes, Jer-sey-Ayrshire, Shorthorn-Friesian and the junior classes. Prizes will also be donated to all competitors other than the winners.
Mr. A. J. Northcott attended the meeting and reported on his work in connection with the supervision of the calf rearing, and discussed with the commit-
tee arrangements in connection with th* judging. Every assistance was promised by th* committee to a deputation of settlers from Mataro Road in an application to have the school bus contract extended a mil* farther to Mr. P. Gaustad’s gate.
It was decided that the annual school concert would be held on December 18.
