SWIMMING OPENS
NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB MEETING. COACHING AND RACES HELD. In. spite of unfavourable conditions there was a large attendance at the New Plymouth baths last night, when the New Plymouth Swimming Club held its first weekly meeting. Coaching for all classes of swimmers was begun, and several races were organised. Results are:— Women’s 33 1-3 yards: Miss N. Fox (scr.) 1, Miss W. Richardson (Is) 2, Miss K. Skipper (scr.) 3; won by a touch. Men’s 33 1-3 yards: J. Hetherington (3s) 1, A. Clark (scr.) 2, B. Meredith (Is) 3; won by a yard. Intermediate boys’ 33 1-3 yards: P. Aldous (3s) 1, G. Rawson (scr.) 2, N. Jenkins (6s) 3; won by a foot.
