DRIVE FOR FUNDS
LIFE-SAVING AND AMBULANCE. A meeting of representatives of the Royal Life-saving Society and the _ St. John Ambulance Association to consider preliminary arrangements regarding their street collection day was held at New Plymouth last night. There were present Messrs. R. Wall (chairman), W. N. Stephenson, A. E. Davidson, K. Williams, C. H. Stephenson,. S. H. Richards and L. Freethy (hon. secretary). The chairman informed the meeting that the Borough Council had allotted 1 to them for a joint collection ’day. It was decided to undertake a house-to-house and street collection. Mesdames Chivers and Gayton and Messrs. Wall and Freethy were appointed a sub-committee to confer regarding the general organisation. Messrs. Wall, Freethy and Williams were appointed an executive committee.
