The Sydney Stock Exchange showed a generally strong tone, though a quiet market prevailed for leading industrials and trading shares. Sales were: Colonial Sugar, £74 17s 6d; Commercial Bank of Sydney, £l7 16s; National Bank (£lO paid), £l2 14s 6d (New Zealand delivery); Associated News, 25s 9d; ditto (pref.), 255; Huddart Parker, 37s 9d; Australian Gas A, £8 2s; British Tobacco, 41s 6d; Tooth’s Brewery, 51s 6d; Carlton Brewery, 50s 9d; Dunlop Perdriau, 20s 3d; ditto (pref.), 37s 9d; Goldsbrough,’ Mort, 31s 4Jd; Winchcombe Carson, 28s 6d; Greater J. D.
