METER TAMPERING
OFFENCES AT WELLINGTON. PROBATION FOR ONE MAN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Nov. 9. William Ludlow, labourer, pleaded guilty to tampering with a meter with intent to defraud the City Council and also to stealing electricity valued at 2s lid. . , „ He was placed on probation for 12 months. ’ The magistrate remarked that if such offences were committed he would have to consider a term of prison. It was stated on behalf of the City Council that quite a long list of people was under suspicion.
