TENNIS SEASON OPENED
WAITARA CLUB COMMENCES PLAY. More than 50 tennis players, including visitors from Waitara and New Plymouth clubs, attended the official opening of the Waitara Lawn Tennis Club’s courts on Saturday afternoon. The courts played well. Twenty-minute sets were played, and during the afternoon the president, Dr. L. R. Barclay,' welcomed the visitors and new players. He declared the courts open. Miss L. Gorrie, last season’s women’s champion, served the first ball.
