ORGANISED SOCIETY

CONFESSIONS OF CROAT INTERNATIONAL INTRIGUE REVOLUTIONARIES’- PLOTS MURDER OF ALEXANDER By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 10 p.m. Paris, Oct. 16. The existence throughout Europe of a secret society engaging in international revolutionary intrigue is confirmed by the confession of Chalny, the Croats who was arrested at Melun after escaping into the forest at Fontainebleau. The society is carefully organised with a president, supreme council, secret signs and an oath of fidelity binding members to execute their missions under pain of death. It possesses arms and munitions and ample funds. Chalny has been identified as Mio Krap, a former chauffeur in the Yugoslavian police force, who was acquainted with police chiefs and high officials. Chalny confessed, after a severe examination, that he arrived at Zurich on September 26 from Budapest, carrying forged passports. He met Kalemen (the assassin of King Alexander of Yugoslavia), and also Kraemer, the leader of the conspirators, and proceeded to France. Chalny accompanied Kalemen to Marseilles, armed with two revolvers and bombs. Chalny admitted that he had orders to shoot King Alexander. He was with Kalemen on the Cannebiere (where the shooting took place) when the procession passed, but his courage failing at the last minute he effaced himself, thus accounting for his not rejoining Novak and Benes, the two other arrested terrorists, knowing that the penalty for the breach of his oath was death at the hands of the gang. His confession inculpated Dr. Anten Pavelitch as president of the secret society. Three Croatians have now confessed to participating in the crime. The police state that a comparison of fingerprints establishes that King Alexander’s assassin was Flada Georgieff, formerly chauffeur to Mihailoff, a Macedonian revolutionary, states a Sofia message.
