OPENING OF THE SEASON. WINNERS OF COMPETITIONS. ( 1 With the greens in perfect condition £ the Park Croquet Club at Hawera for- J mally opened the season yesterday in the £ presence of a large number of friends and visitors. Mrs. J. E. Campbell, the ( Mayoress, played the first ball of the £ season, and for the rest of the afternoon, despite overcast conditions and a j cold wind, a large number played in sev- j eral competitions. c The president of the club, Mrs. A.
