UNCONSCIOUS BY CAR
DRIVER FOUND ON ROADSIDE. EARLY MORNING DISCOVERY. Found unconscious alongside an overturned service passenger car in the vicinity of Kent Road, Mr. George R. Gibson was admitted to the New Plymouth public hospital at an early hour yesterday morning. The discovery was made by Mr. William Hoskin, Stratford. Mr. Gibson was reported to be sleeping quietly last night. While travelling alone from Stratford to New Plymouth shortly before 1 a.m. Mr. Hoskin made the discovery near Lake Mangamahoe. Following investigations he proceeded to the New Plymouth police station, where he reported the accident at 1.10 a.m. Constable H. J. Neary was immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident and he found the car lying on the right-hand side of the road and the driver, Mr. Gibson, unconscious on the roadside.
The injured man was conveyed to New Plymouth, and following an examination by Dr. D. E. Brown was removed to hospital, where later he partly regained consciousness. He was unable at that stage to give any account of how the accident occurred. Last night Mr. Gibson was reported to be sleeping quietly. The car was not extensively damaged.
