POLICE INQUIRIES
DISTRIBUTION OF BOOKLET. “McARTHUR STRIKES BACK.” By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The police have been inquiring to discover the seller or sellers at Christchurch of a booklet entitled “McArthur Strikes Back at Coates and the Kelly Gang.”* The booklet was the subject of prosecutions at Wellington last week, when three men were charged with breaches of the law under the Printers’ and Newspapers Registration Act. The booklet has been circulated in fair numbers at Christchurch, and presumably has been sold there. It has not yet been decided what action will be taken against those persons who have sold the publication at Christchurch.
