TRANS-PACIFIC MAILS
SERVICE BY AMERICAN COMPANY. HELP OF GOVERNMENT SOUGHT. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright Rec. 7 p.m. Oct. 14. Pan-American Airways to-day, in correspondence with the Postmaster-Gen-eral, Mr. James Farley, announced they were considering the early inauguration of a trans-Pacific air transport service between California and the Orient. PanAmerican Airways has ordered six 32passenger flying boats. The Post Office Department is prepared to ask Congress for an appropriation to finance trans-Pacific mail carrying.
