INGLEWOOD NEWS
FUNERAL OF MRS. GRIFFITHS. The respect in which Mrs. Martha Jane Griffiths was held was shown by the large number that gathered at Inglewood on Monday afternoon to pay their last tribute to her. The late Mrs. Griffiths was an invalid for a number of years. She was an old resident of the Inglewood district and had always worked in the interests of the community. On Saturday evening the members of the newly-formed Inglewood Pig Club met and elected a committee comprising Messrs. Marsh, Sutton, Bennett, Brown and Pennington, to arrange for the purchase of a sow and the erection of the stye, etc. The following morning the committee met on the proposed site and finalised arrangements for a custodian and the building of the house.
