Mrs. Hamblyn, Tariki, is the guest of her sister, Mrs. J. Vickery.

Mrs. B. C. Lawrence entertained several friends on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. M. Carrick was hostess at an enjoyable afternoon on Wednesday.

Miss M. Goddard will return to-day from a holiday visit to Hastings.

Mrs. J. Vickery entertained friends on Friday afternoon.

Miss Jean Curson, New Plymouth, is visting Miss Clarice Richards. Miss Gaw is visiting Stratford and is the guest of Mrs. E. C. A. Gaw. Miss F. Dew, spent last week-end as the guest of her mother, Mrs. B. Dew. Mrs. M. Carrick, who has been spending a brief holiday at New Plymouth has returned home.

Miss R. Ruddy, New Plymouth, was the guest of Mrs. Pizzey at the weekend.

Mi« E. Woodcock, Taihape, is visiting Waitara as the guest of Miss W. Sampson.

Miss M. Allen was a visitor to Inglewood for the golf dance and was the guest of Mrs. D. McAllister. Mi.<« J. Anderson, Taihape, who spent the week-end with Mrs. B. Jonas, Onaero, has returned home.

Mrs. Birdling, Christchurch, who has been visiting Waitara, left during the week for Tauranga.

On Monday evening a euchre party in aid ’of St. John’s Church was held m the St. John’s halh The prize-winners were Mesdames Pizzey and Faigan. Mrs. G. Marshall entertained relatives and friends on Friday afternoon on the occasion of the 90th birthday of her mother, Mrs. T. Palmer. Representatives of the Waitara Plunket Society, who attended the address given by Dr. Martin Tweed at New Plymouth on Monday afternoon, were Mesdames W B. Glasgow, W. V. Morey, G. P. Fuller, H. Wells, and P. Appleby.

The ladies’ closing day at the Manukorihi Golf Club was held on Tuesday afternoon. When afternoon tea had been served, Mrs. Prichard, club captain, welcomed the visitors, and Mr. E. A. George presented the trophies won during the season. On behalf of the Visitors Mrs. Glasgow thanked the members for a pleasant afternoon. Mrs..h. Sarten’s trophy for the visitors’ putting competition was won by Mrs. Glasgow.
