Mrs. H. Greig left on Wednesday night to visit Auckland. Mrs. Denny Brown was hostess at a bridge tea yesterday afternoon. Mrs. R. Hamerten has returned to Patea after a visit to Mrs. T. Horton. Mrs. L. R. Curtis left during the week to spend a few days at Wanganui. Mrs. E. Wyboume left during the week to spend a holiday at Wanganui. Mrs. P. Keller, Vogeltown, left this week on a holiday visit to Westport. Miss C. Keller, Paeroa, is at present on a visit to New Plymouth. Mrs. J. McLeod will return to New Plymouth to-day from Wellington.

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Telf, Te Awamutu, are spending a short visit with Mrs. A. J. Chainey, Fitzroy Road. Miss B. Hookham returned on Thursday from a holiday in North Canterbury.

Mrs. J. A. Stevens, Wellington, was a visitor to New Plymouth during the week.

Mrs. J. Power was a visitor to Wanganui for the golf tournaments left weekend.

Miss J. Davies will arrive from Waipukurau to-day on a visit to Miss A. Horner.

Mrs. R. Youngman left during the week to spend a holiday at Christchurch.

Mrs. Hutchison, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Duthie, left yesterday on her return to Oamaru. Mrs. Dawson, London, is a visitor to New Plymouth and is the guest of Mrs. C. S. Mayer. Mrs. Hugh Good returned to Stratford yesterday after : being Mrs. L. A. Nolan’s guest.

Mrs. C. Brown, New Plymouth, was a visitor to Manaia at the week-end as the guest of Mrs. J. Dunn. Mi-ss B. Humphries, who has been the guest of Miss K. Humphries, returned to Lower Hutt yesterday. Mrs. J. L. Davies, Palmerston North, is a visitor to New Plymouth and is the guest of Mrs. J. Power. Mrs. G. Ashbridge, Wellington, and Mrs. B. Jones, Wellington, are staying at the Hotel Imperial. Mrs. George Graham, Napier, who has been staying at the Hotel Imperial, left on Thursday for Rotorua. Mrs. A. L. Humphries motored to Wanganui during the week to visit her daughter, Mrs. A. B. Mrs. H, H. Ward and Miss. Betty Ward arrived from Wellington on Thursday to be the guests of Mrs. R. J. Matthews for a few days. '' Mrs. J. J. Woodward was hostess at a bridge evening on Thursday in honour of Miss Hamann, who will leave shortly for Australia.

Mrs. O. F. Maclntyre will leave to-day for Auckland, where she will join the Tamaroa for a trip round the New Zealand coast.

Miss D. Mann has returned to New Plymouth after spending nearly three months in the United States, where she attended a florists’ conference at Denver.

Miss Mary Hine, New Plymouth, arrived at Christchurch on Thursday. She will spend some. weeks there and will return to New Plymouth for a short stay before leaving for Sydney. Miss Ivy MacClure, who has been spending a fortnight’s holiday at New Plymouth as the guest of Mrs. Duncan Mackay, Brooklands Road, returned to Ohura this week.

Miss Helen Atkinson will leave to-day to spend the week-end with Mrs. Miles Atkinson, Alton, and then will leave on Monday to pay a holiday visit to Auckland, where she will be the guest of Mrs. H. Calder.

Mrs. L. A. Nolan was hostess at a small dinner party at the Criterion Hotel on Thursday night in honour of Miss K. Humphries, who celebrated her 80th birthday this week. Visitors from New Plymouth who motored to Inglewood for the golf club ball on Thursday night included Mrs. Norma Little and Misses J. Bayly (Wellington), O. Firth, Nielson, M. Allen and P. Wylds. Guests staying at the Criterion Hotel during the week have included Mrs. H. W. Tolan, Ha taitai, Wellington; Mrs. A. M. D. Fairbairn, Victoria, B.C. Mrs. J. Shields, Nelson; Mrs. H.
