SUNDAY ARMISTICE DAY
WISHES OF THE KING SOUGHT. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 7.30 p.m. London, Sept. 15. Armistice Day falling on a Sunday, November 11, the Archbishop of Canterbury has sent a letter to the bishops which says *he has communicated with the Government regarding the King’s wishes. It was hoped religious services specially referring to the memories, hopes and resolves surrounding Armistice Day would be arranged to enable the silence to be observed within the churches exactly at 11 a.m.
The letter adds: “I am communicating with other religious communions.”
