TARIKI CARNIVAL NEWS
NUMBER OF PARTIES HELD. At the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. J)ey an enjoyable house party was held in aid of the red and white candidate in tire Tariki queen carnival. Games were interspersed with dancing, music being played by Messrs. Haines and Karalus. The winners in the card room were: Ladies, Mrs. R. Davis 1, Miss A. Huzziff 2; men, Mr. Toppings 1, Mr. Ritchie 2, A competition was won by Mr. L. Davis. This was the third occasion on which Mr. and Mrs. Dey had given their home for this purpose. A card party was held at the home of Mrs. R. Davis to further the interests of the red and white candidate (Miss G. Rumball). Following are the results: Ladies, Mrs. R. Davis 1, Mrs. J. Fabish 2; men, Mr. Brian Fabish 1, Mr. R. Davis 2. The filial party for the red and white candidate was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenrick on Friday night, visitors coming from Inglewod. Following cards, dancing was carried out. Winners of euchre prizes were Mrs. Kenrick and Mr. L. Davis, Competitions were won by Messrs. B. Whittaker, B. Dombroski, and R. Rurnball. Mrs. W. Laurence has returned from Tataraimaka. Mr. Huzziff, senr., underwent an operation at the New Plymouth hospital on Tuesday.
