DEATH OF MR. T. N. PEEK
ONCE LIVED AT WAITARA. The death occurred at Devonport on Tuesday of Mr. Thomas Napoleon Peek, at the age of 78 years. Mr. Peek, who "was well known in Auckland and the province, was born in London, and arrived in Auckland by the ship Excelsior in 1859.' He spent his early years in the Waikato and Hokianga districts with his father, who was a contractor erecting sawmills and flaxmills. He later was engaged in book-keeping and secretarial duties at Waitara, Auckland and Huntly, and eventually joined the firm of Donald and Edenborough, with which he was associated for 20 years. He retired in 1926 and took up his residence at Coromandel, where he was interested in Masonic activities and bowling. For the past four years he had resided at Devonport. He was a foundation member of the Ellerslie Bowling Club and a member of the Devonport Bowling Club, of which he was green superintendent. Mr. Peek was a past master of the Lodge Coromandel in the Masonic Order, and in 1928 was appointed a justice of the peace. He is survived by Mrs, Peek, three sons and one daughter.
